One of the best tools that you can use fishing is a tape measure,but not more important than a rod or reel. Tape measures can decide if you have caught a monster or something not worth looking at. Also some fish are protected and can only be eaten if the right length. So if you do not want to break any laws or maybe set a world record, I would advise you to buy yourself a tape measure.
